Olympic champion Charlotte Caslick has been named the world women's rugby sevens player of the year.

The 21-year-old starred in Australia's Olympic gold medal-winning campaign in Rio in August.

Caslick, who beat out beat New Zealand's Portia Woodman and England captain Emily Scarratt for the gong, also played in Australia's maiden women's sevens world series title.
